Edition Julie Joliat

Crocode joined forces with Edition Julie Joliat, a young company just taking off in the market of selling planners. In other words, this was the framework within which this project was nested, with the aim of being something quite different: to carve out a unique online brand presence speaking volumes of the brand and what it offers. In such a highly competitive market, Edition Julie Joliat goes with the ambition to be able to showcase its products well—easily, intuitively—and facilitate the customer journey from product display to purchase.

The challenge of building from scratch

The challenge laid out was clear and formidable: to construct a website from the ground up. This essentially meant creating in digital form not the technical output of a digital storefront but, in fact, encapsulating the ethos and aesthetic of the brand digitally.

It shall be an adventure in creating a seamless bridge between the product and the intending customer, ensuring the website served not just as a platform for making sales but really as an extension of the brand itself. From first solution to the last, this adventure has taken 6 months.

A Shopify store was developed in the course of crafting, utilizing and designing a custom theme, down to its optimization, for the Edition Julie Joliat brand identity. The creation of the site was quite a bumpy road: from the technical part, with troubles in developing the theme, to the convenience and security of the payment process for the customer.

Every issue that has to do with technical capabilities and creative problem-solving in order for the website to perform well, both current aesthetic values that mark the brand and ensure its cohesion are things he tackles.

The technology stack used for the project was powerful, flexible, and included HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Shopify Liquid. Combinations of these were set to have good balance, and therefore a user-friendly interface with an attractive layout was easy to develop.

Success and impact of the project

The choice of the platform to use is of immense importance. There is stable and flexible ground that Shopify offers, and it can suit the specific needs of an e-commerce business dealing in planners. In summary, the project was a huge success: the result after completion was that the launched site was more than fulfilling the targeted site that was to be fixed, if not even surpassing the one expected by Edition Julie Joliat.
